I have to start this one by thanking you all.
12 months and 34 books later, thank you all for participating in my personal experiment. I started writing these newsletters at the top of this year as an accountability practice for myself. It was a challenge, a hypothesis. “If I take notes on what I read, will I retain the information better?” While I got my answer to that question (yes), I have gained so much more.
I’ve gained a community of information lovers. I’ve gained a confidence that comes in the courage of sharing my honest thoughts with you all. It’s still so crazy to me that 14k of you all open up this newsletter, and actually read it! Like really, thank you all. 🫂 This newsletter is my expression of art, it’s my play. So thank you all for participating in that with me.
Now, back to regularly scheduled programming.
I truly believe that life works at a magical level. For this book, to be my last read of the year. Phew, God you working overtime.
‘Rough Around the Edges’ is written by my friend, Jason Keaton. In this book Keaton shares his intimate, vulnerable, and honest story of his life. The purity of his reflection is courageous and brilliant. I wanted to cry, laugh, hug my people, and be a better person all because of the journey of this book. This was the only book I’ve read this year that I literally could not put down. It is brilliant. For this newsletter, there is no recap, no “here’s what I learned.”
Simply an encouragement - y’all need to go read this book.
Signing off for the year. Tap back in with you all in 2024. Have a safe and beautiful holiday.
Till next time. With love,
Diaundra
