Diaundra's TL;DR: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
"Your past thoughts are the sponsors of your future." - Dr. Joe Dispenza
Ugh. I write this one with a little internal 😒 because I wanted to be a Dr. Joe D. hater, but this man is undeniably good.
Dispenza is loved by many, particularly by the 4:30 am wake-up Venice girlie who cold plunges, puts chlorophyll in her morning water, works out with 432 Hz frequencies playing in her AirPods Max, and drinks $30 smoothies from Erewhon. And yes, I’ve realized that this girl and I are about 6 months out from being the Spiderman meme.
Anywho, back to the point, this read is excellent. 10/10. Here’s what I learned:
There’s a big gap between what we believe we think about and what we actually spend our time thinking about. Try it for yourself. Sit in the observer seat for a day and pay attention to what you actually spend your time thinking about. Spoiler alert: our thoughts are more redundant and negative than we’d think.
You are what you do. You are what you think. A lack of discipline in action + thought is the direct correlation to an unwanted reality.
There’s a difference between wanting to grow and choosing to grow. Wanting to grow is knowing you shouldn’t eat the donut and wishing that you didn’t want the donut, but eating it anyway. Choosing to grow is not eating it. A new reality is truly a choice away.
Take responsibility for every aspect of your life, the good and the bad. If you choose partial ownership, you only have partial creatorship.
"If you can perceive it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it."
Lastly, I leave you with one of the questions that Dr. Dispenza asks his readers that’s really been sitting with me: “What are your limiting beliefs about yourself? If you could rewrite those beliefs, what would they be?
Till next time.
With love,
Diaundra
